Welcome to the website of the Independent Reconfiguration Panel (IRP)

The Independent Reconfiguration Panel is the independent expert on NHS service change.

We were established in 2003 to provide advice to the Secretary of State for Health on contested proposals for health service change in England. We also offer ongoing support and advice to the NHS and other interested bodies on successful service changes.

Current Reviews. The IRP has been asked to provide advice on proposals for:

* maternity services in Scarborough and north east Yorkshire. Press release here. Report submitted to the Secretary of State for Health on 30 June 2008.

* the redistribution of services between Barnet, Chase Farm and North Middlesex Hospitals. Press release here.

* maternity, specialist baby care and inpatient gynaecology services provided by East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust. Press release here.
